Hey guys,

I posted this question in the Sights forum but haven't gotten any response.  I'm wondering what the difference in the windage knobs is between the new style "flat" knob and the older A2 knob. Is it merely cosmetic or is there some functional difference as well?

Thanks for any info,

The only functional difference is that the windage arrow now points in the correct direction.  The old A2 knob was backwards, due to being mounted on the left instead of the right.

The narrower profile of the new-style knob also allows the cocking handle to be manipulated w/o accidentally hitting the knob & inadvertantly changing the windage setting when the sight is folded down.

I've seen other folding rear sights (notably, the GG&G A2) that have the standard (wider) knob, but on the R-side. I'm not sure if the R-side location mitigates the need to make the knob narrower, though it seems like it could still get hit, particularly if shooting & charging w/ weapon held on the L-side.
