Sup fellas

im at the brink of buying my M4 Bushy 16" 1:9 Phantom FS And i was thinking of either a 4 position collapsible stock or the regular A2?
Any opinions and or experiences would be helpful

i know that the A2 stock is durable...but is it ugly on a M4/Short barrel?

Im Afraid that the collapsible stock will break or crack if hit hard enough? How Durable is it?I like the look of the collapsible though.

Im about 5'9 will the A2 fit me well when i hold it?

I guess im looking for Durability first then looks..

by the way-yes i can get a collapsible stock in kali. but have to settle for a Fab-10

THNX

Of course anything that moves will have a possibility of breaking, but the collpsable stocks are rugged enough.  I find the A2 stock too long for my tastes (I'm also 5'9") and the shooting I do with my AR.  For bench or prone it's ok, but for the CQB drills I do I prefer a shorter stock.

The CAR stock has an aluminum tube and the extension is of fairly thick plastic.  I would think it takes a lot to break one.  It would propbalby take the same pressure to break an A2 as would the collapsible.

More so the older all alluminum telestocks, because it's metal on metal.  I haven't heard/seen any big problems with the fiberlite ones, but of course there is always a possibility when moving parts are involved.  especially when they get more worn with time and use.

I have an all metal 3 pos car stock and HATE IT. It is noisy and rattlely. I have since put a A2 on it and like it much better, more comfortable, quiet, better cheak weld, and has a storage compartment and makes for easier butt stroking of someones head. I think it loks ok too.

I have about 150 parachute jumps with an exposed GAU-5 and have never seen any breakages. The orginal Colt stocks were rubber coated aluminum and were really not that bad. New Fiberites were better and lighter.

I have broken the collapsable stocks during hard use. Not enough to make them non-functional, incidents like breaking the toe of the stock.
In my experience it is much easier for the novice shooter and the person under too much stress to make good hits with a full stock rather than the collapsable stock. Each has its place.
FWIW- I do know some high speed guys have the full stock on their M4's. I personnaly find shooting a M203 easier with it.

Do any of you know of good online places to buy the new collapsible stock design?

How do you know which ones are the new design visually and which ones are the old designs?

Well, I think collasable stock should match your M4gery upper. And by putting another evUl feature, you just succeeded in irritating another liberal.

Get an A1 stock and put an A2 buttplate on in.

The old style will have a smaller, straight buttpad.  The new styles are alightly longer, and have a larger angled buttpad with a sling swivel on the bottom.

Model 1 sales has the best prices.  Rock River, Bushmaster, and Colt have the best quality.  Though i'm not sure of the quality of the Model 1 sales version.  They're worth checking out.

Has anyone used that ace skeleton stock that Bushmaster is selling?  I think it would look nice on a shorty.

I concure.  The A1 stock is much better.  Cav Arms in the Industry section are selling new production A1 stocks.

Looks?  Who cares about looks - the rifle handles and balances better.  Its stronger, and there is storage for a cleaning kit.

Oh yeah it DOES look better with an A1 stock IMHO.

I have one on my Colt M4gery.  Durable, stable, and looks great!  I'm getting another one for my Bushmaster M4.
