Some looking has revealed that the KKF TacBrake and Wilson Combat TacBrake are rated about the same by most users, and if that is true, then I figure I could save some time by going with the Wilson and their 3 week install deal.  The question, however, is can it work with my 14.5 inch M4 barrel.

Questions as follows:

1.Is the Wilson brake too short to make a 14.5 inch barrel legal? (very important)

2.Does their installation deal include removing a "permanently attached" brake before installing the TacBrake? (very important)

3. Is the Wilson brake as well machined and representative of an A2 FS as the KKF brake?

thanks

Call Wilson first to make sure they will honor their 3 week instalation quote. Last time I needed something done by them, they told me right up front they would not be able to do it in the time they quoted in their catalog.

IMO, Kurt's brake looks much more like the A2 than the Wilson. Kurt's brake is really the best looking brake out there. Wilson's is ok, but it doesnt have anyting on Kurt's.

If it were me, and it very wel may be in the near future(!) I'd go with Kurt.

I agree, Kurt's Kustom A2 brake looks better, works better, and is cheaper....I've owned both and was not impressed at all with the Wilson brake....Just my .02

By the way the Wilson and KKF A2 brake are both too short to put on a 14.5" barrel to bring the overall length of the barrel up to 16"....Kurt does have an A3 brake which looks like a longer A2 brake...The A3 will bring a 14.5" barrel up to just over 16" so it's legal...

I have a Wilson brake and it is the same length as an A2 flash suppressor. It will not make you legal on a 14.5 inch barrel. You will need Kurts A3 brake.
