I recently purchased a S3G for my SPR/3 gun build and I am very disappointed in the product. I am not sure if I need to do something or I got a dud off the line.
The S3G is supposed to be a single stage trigger with a short reset (reset is kinda short but not the same as my CMC or Timney). The weight of the trigger is fine however there is a TON of creep in this thing. It is terrible, worse than my factory Colt trigger. Almost enough creep to make it feel like a two stage. But it is smooth. Either I bought this product thinking it was something else, or its a dud, or ????? I want to like this trigger and be a Geissele fan like everyone else but I am seriously up in the air right now. If you all don't have some good suggestions then I will call them. |

The S3G is single stage but not in the sense of no movement, then break. The squeeze is a roll trigger, just like NM 1911 shooters desire for bullseye shooting. It starts moving instantly then the break is like falling off a cliff. Its a speed trigger, not designed for shooting groups or long range work.

okay, so to you it sounds as if the trigger is operating properly? If so that's fine, I was just expecting something different. When I think of a single stage trigger I think little to no take up and a very crisp break.
ETA: I just went and tried the trigger, it is just as you described. I wish that had been part of the product description but I now have learned that a single stage trigger has different meanings to different companies. |
