I have a SSA-E trigger that has a slight bit of creep in the second stage, is this normal? Is there a way to remove the creep or do I have to upgrade to the Match trigger?

If you look at the Geissele graphs for each trigger, there is a horizontal component of trigger movement in the break phase. The SSA has the most travel, followed by the SSA-E, followed in order by the High Speeds. I would think that is what your feeling. Also, my latest SSA seemed to smooth up more when it had a dousing of Break Free Aerosol all over the trigger/hammer and pins and springs. The yellow lube didn't seem to matter as much. I also think they get even better after you've shot them for a while. If you dry fire it, try holding the trigger back while you pull the charging handle so it has to go through a reset. With both triggers I installed, I failed to notice in the sequence of events that the Trigger pins needed lube, until after I got to the hammer pin installation step. So later I just sprayed the crap out of the pins, receiver holes and trigger group/springs with break free and let it soak for a few days. I first put the hammer on with the spring backwards. So I discovered it had no tension. I can tell you that's when I discovered there was some grittiness to the hammer movement which I attributed to dry receiver holes. So be sure and lube those holes. The G guys will come along soon with the real answer, I just felt like adding my two cents. |

I can feel the first stage, it's smooth and consistant. It's not until the second stage that it has a bit of creep before it breaks. I will relube it tonight to see if that helps. An SSA-E should have no creep at the break. Lube the trigger but also check for rubbing. If its rubbing anywhere this can be an issue. Look at the slot in the receiver where the bow comes out, the receiver walls, and safety (remove to check) Also make sure hammer spring is not on backwards |

Seems like it's good to go now It must have needed to be lubed up somewhere.
I sprayed it down with CLP, waited a bit and then sprayed it out with air. Verified that the hammer spring was installed correctly and there was no rubbing on the selector or the receiver. I dug out the supplied grease and greased up the contact points. I couldn't get out to the range until yesterday but it seemed to have fixed the issue. Thanks for the quick reponses guys, very much appreciated! |

Next one I install, I am going to actually clean out the receiver before I put it in. |
