All T&E units went out today.
We'll post more in depth pictures before we're ready to release them, I don't want to get folks fired up only to find out they can't buy them yet 
On the take down pin, we made four changes. On the pivot pin, we made five changes, including a patent pending feature that makes installation very easy. Someone was dubious on how we were able to "enhance" the pins, my answer was that maybe because these pins have been long neglected since they do the job asked of them, few companies have spent a lot of time and money to further develop them. Over engineered? Perhaps. To us, these are sensible, ergonomic and human finger friendly. We've never considered good enough all that good. Like our selectors, a grass root movement is under way, for it is not easy to tell just how they're better until you've installed them and used them

Are these going to be available through BAD only/initially, or should I keep an eye on distributors when they come out?
I'm dying waiting for these to come out. The BAD lower and BCM rail are my two most anticipated parts right now for my next build. I already have a couple of ASSes waiting for future builds to happen. |

I received my T&E pins yesterday and they are a winner! The front pivot pin can be installed with NO tools, guaranteeing no more flying detents! GENIUS!
These pins should be standard on EVERY AR-15 lower by every manufacturer. If you don't get a set when they are released you will be cheating yourself. Also, the 45* selector is a MUST have. Thank you Battle Arms Development! Speed is Life! |

Forgot to check the mail yesterday when I got home
First impressions. Extremely well thought out. Love the "no tools" pivot pin. Worked like greased owl shit. A few suggestions: Move the "fingernail notch" on the ETP 180 degrees. The lip is towards the upper and it's kinda tight in that area to get a nail into. If you go the other direction, there's near unlimited access to the head. Also. how about some hardened detent pins just like you supply with your safeties? All of the ones I've got are a softish steel and you could see signs of where the pins are wearing the point off. I'll bet with hardened detent pins, the setup would run better than anyone could ever imagine. Glad I could be a part of the T&E program. Sorry for the craptastic iPhone pics.

The angled flat between 1 and 2 o'clock isn't meant for the finger nail There is no way to get a finger nail there and pull i (without the pin having been pushed in from the left first), and even then, the flat serves to provide more surface and better grabbing area for the fingers to pull on, AFTER the pin has been pushed in all the way from the left, to the right side of the receiver.
The position of the angled flat was hotly debated in development. I found myself grabbing a few different areas, and others do do. Between 1 and 2 o'clock was deemed to be the more common position, but if you grab the "mushroom head" from other positions, there's the knurling on the rest of the circumference. Re: styles, the pins will come in different finishes, but the styles will probably not see significant changes
We're planning on sourcing the pin detents from KNS, and there'll be springs too. Both will be optional items when purchasing, they will not be standard (included) equipment. |

Hey Duffy, does that relief in the rear takedown pin allow room for the KNS auto sear pin? On regular rear takedown pins, they usually have to be relieved for them to fit. I have used one of those KNS sear pins in use with a regular take down pin, I didn't need to relief the factory pin any

| We've decided to include two springs and two detents with the pin sets. As there are variables at play, at least we can eliminate two of them, the third variable is the receiver, namely, the depth of the receiver's spring/detent hole depth for the pivot pin :) |
