I am working on two new builds: bought a new DSC tactical lightweight upper from J & T Dist at a gun show the other month and picked up a used complete CAV-15 MK1 with tactical lightweight upper on it(So one new and one used). Plan on making 2 super light CAV 15MKIIs. Seem to be having major issues with the uppers. Havent taken them to the range yet, but when I toss a mag in and and chamber and extract the rounds, the bolt gets jammed shut and it takes a LOT of muscle to pull it open. When I examine the rounds after they are extracted, part of the tip of the bullet is flat from when it feeds into the barrel. Im using Winchester .223 Rem 55gr FMJ and Wolf .223 55grm FMJ. Im guessing the barrel is chambered for .223, not 556, but I am using the .223 Rem. I know the Wolf ammo seems to be the same size as the 5.56 Q3131A. I have tried swaping various bolts and lowers(MKI, MKII and Eagle Arms) and it seems to be the upper. Also using LaBelle mags. Help? |

Our barrels are chambered for 5.56 nato, so that shouldn't be the problem. The easiest way to trouble shoot it would be to have you send the uppers back. Once we them in house we can figure out what 's going on with them. Just include a note stating the problem and we'll get it taken care of for you. Jesse |
