I ordered a no-ban 16" C.A.R kit last tue.  The person who took my order said that it would ship out at the begining of this week.  I called monday, spoke to a girl on the phone who said they where working on the 16" kits as we spoke and they would go out in the morning.  This pronpted me to call the dealer sending my lower and up the shipping to priority mail to make sure that all the parts would be there by the weekend.  I then called them today and was told that there was a shortage of no-ban barrels.  I can understand a shortage due to the lack of the ban but i wish they would have told me that last week when I ordered or monday when i called to check on the status of the order.  I must say that the people I have spoken to have been very helpful and nice but I wouldnt have paid the extra money to rush the Lower if i new I wouldnt get the Upper till next week anyway.  I explained all this to the Gal on the phone and she was more than willing to help but it cost me an extra 50$ for the chrome lined barrel.  The only no-ban barrels they have in stock, she also said they would do there best to get the upper shipped out today.  I asked her to send me an e-mail to let me know what was going on, but i didnt here anything.  So far nothing has been charged to my account so i imagine that the upper has not been shipped yet.  I have heard nothing but good things about this company so i imagine that the product will be well worth the wait, but i wish they would have given me a more realistic timeline in the first place and take more care to keep the customer up to date on their order.
I will let everyone know the outcome as soon as i get the kit.

I also have an order in for a 16 inch kit.  I have not heard about the shortage on barrels but have sent 2 e-mails to inquire about the order. Neither has been answered   I was not expecting it too soon as with the holiday weekend last week. I guess I will make a call today to see what is going on. I know my lower has shipped from AZ and expect it anyday and it would be nice to have them here within a  day or 2 of each other but after 10 years whats a couple of extra days.

I never got any responce to my e-mail from J&T I just called them.  The only problem was that it seems like no one talks to eachother there.  The people where real nice but i got different answers every time I talked to people today. I think they got things fixed, we will see I upgraded to express shipping so it should be here tomorrow or sat.  I will let you all know

Wait to see what Jesse says when he gets back.

He's pretty good about customer care unlike a few other kit companies. Last I heard he' been swamped lately.

We've had several hitches as of late, everything from new employees getting the hang of things, to vendors failing to deliver as promised.  When our barrels came in from the coaters on Monday, only half the shipment was there, a message that most didn't find out until this week because we were all busy throwing stuff in the trucks for Knob Creek.  Knob Creek was last week, so most of us were out of the shop from Wed. to Monday.  We should have the remainder of the barrels back from the coaters tomorrow.  To top everything off we lost our phone lines yesterday around 2:00PM, so all of the orders that were supposed to be shipped could not processed until today.  Ever heard the expression when it rains it pours?  That's our place in a nutshell.  With any luck we'll get things back on track and running smoothly again shortly.  Please be patient and bear with us, we're not trying to mislead or be dishonest on information or delivery times.  Let me know if there is anything that I can do to help.

Jesse

PS:  If you need to contact us, you'll get the best results calling, as we only have crappy dial-up service available at the shop (we're in the middle of the boonies), so I check email when I get home where I've got broadband.  So if you're emailing about an order it takes at least 2 days for me to get the email, print it off, take it to the shop, get the response, then bring it back home to respond.  That  is why it takes so long to get updates on orders via E-mail.

thanks.  I think it is all fixed. I spoke with you today.  I am going to try to call you tomorrow when you are at the shop to try and get a tracking number for my order.  It should have been here today but it hasnt shown up.

well my kit came today. Upper looks great lower went together with very few problems. I had to sand down the bolt catch a little. It had a dimple on one side so it wouldnt fit in the grove in the reciever. Everything else went together real easy, took less than 30 minutes. I am going to go test fire it tomorrow. Ill let everyone know how it works.

Well I called and only wished I could have gotten a more specific answer to my shipping question. The lady who answered the phone was very nice and said they are working on getting all of the orders shipped. When I asked for something a little more accurate she said she could only tell me it will be as soon as possible. She also told me that it all depended where my order fell on the list since there were people who have been waiting since September.  Anyway just have to sit down and cool my heels a little longer. Patience is hard when waiting on a toy.

We have had problems with broken promises on ship dates, so to keep this from happening again, until things get caught up, no solid ETA's are to be given unles it's on the table to ship that day.  Sorry for the inconvenience.

not a problem Jesse I can understand that you can't control what other people do. Like I said before I have waited a long time for this opportunity what is a couple of more days. I would also rather wait the extra time for a quality product than to try to get something in a rush that might be a POS.

the quality that i got from them was great, like i said the riffle looks great the only problem was that bolt catch but a little sand paper and some time took care of it.  you wont be disapointed with the kits from J&T

I was told 3 weeks to 1 month wait on my DS-4 kit. I just HAD to have a removable carry handle so they will wait until it gets there to ship it all out.

They also wont charge my credit card and will be sending me an email when it goes out.

Good Stuff!
