Troy's CS is excellent and they care about their customers....somewhat.

I will never buy anything but your Battle sights from now on. My faith in the TRX Alpha rails is gone.

I am going back to Larue Tactical.

The fact that I have to pay out of my pocket to have the replaced rail refinished in multicam to match my rifle is BULLSHIT. I don't need a $130 credit for your products as I don't need battle sights right now and can get them cheaper through brownells.

I appreciate your honesty that the rail on my upper was out of spec, but as my life or death rifle, I cannot give you guys another chance.

Good Riddance.

I apologize for the inconvenience. We only produce Black or FDE rails. We agreed to assist you. Our warranty does not cover parts with modifications. Once again I apologize for the situation.

Troy should have better QC and check the specs on the batches they send out to distributors. They admitted fault and took care of me. Am I happy? No, but Stefan replaced the defective unit and issued a credit for the cost of the finishing on the defective handguard and personally installed and tested the alpha 13" before sending it back to me. Personally, I think the $120 credit is an insult becuase I will not be buying anything Troy unless it is a set of BUIS.

I tested it yesterday and put 500 rounds through the upper and it works without any movement of the rail slipping on the barrel nut.

Great cust service, but I am replacing it with a Larue 13.2.

I cannot trust Troy's QC anymore and Larue has never failed me once. Sorry, but it is how I feel.

Just a thought as I have gotten out of spec items from several top tier companies..............don't paint them until you have actually tried them. These rails like everything else for sale around here is made on a line that is possible to send out a defective part.

If you don't want the rail or credit. I'll take it and put it to good use. Troy has good people and take care of me when I have issues with their products.

Um did the OP buy the Rail from a Vendor already painted or did he send it off to be painted afterwards. Either way it is not Troys fault. And if you didn't check it before sending it off to be modified that sounds like the OPs mistake not Troy's. Looks like Troy went above and beyond what was called for in the matter and you complain about it. If the problem is fixed even double checked by Troy before sending it back to you why do you now feel the  need to replace it knowing it is good now. Most manufactures would not have even fixed the rail after you modified it. The warrenty would have been voided but Troy owned up, fixed it and even offered you a store credit for the cost of the repainting.  That sounds like great CS to me.

So... You modified a defective part.
Complained to Troy, Who fixed the problem, even tho you voided the warranty by modifying the rail.
Then, even after that, complained that they wont pay to have the new rail refinished but instead give you an equal amount in store credit to buy more stuff?
Sounds like they could have told you to pound sand after step one but stepped up anyway.
Sounds like you are more concerned with having a safe queen/range candy than A fighting rifle.
I'll give you $20 shipped for that POS Troy rail.

Why not order the sights or something for the amount of the refund, and turn around and sell them to fund your paint?

As stated before, Troy/Stefan took care of me and gave great CS. The original rail never had problems until I ran over 700 rounds in a carbine class and afterwards it would not retain tension on the barrel nut. Stefan determined that the rail was from a batch that was out of spec and replaced it.

It was a PITA to have it hydro-dipped in multicam with a long wait. My personal feeling is that after this experience, I could not trust the alpha rail because I depend on my rifle in life or death situations.

I took the replaced 13" Alpha (which Stefan installed personally) and ran 300 rounds during training drills last week and it is holding up, but the fact that I am unwilling to remove the rail and have it refinished to risk these failures again is not something I want to go through again.

I will be replacing it with a Larue 13.2 which is out being dipped currently.

I admit I was not happy when he said that they would not reimburse me for the finish by issuing a credit, but there is nothing I want from Troy and I have no need for another set of BUIS.

Quite frankly, I really don't care what you guys think as my experience with these rails is tarnished forever. It is too bad because I prefer the weight of the alpha over the Larue. I stand by my opinion and if your alpha rail has been 100% and GTG, that is your prerogative.

I am done with this matter and I don't need any of your opinions as it does not matter to me.

I just wanted to clarify that Troy attempted to satisfy me as a customer, but the trust is gone with me in regard to these rail systems. I am done with this and as far as I'm concerned my mind is made up.

Have a good day.

Like I stated, let me have the rail and credit. After that you can carry on.

According to you, Troy went above and beyond to satisfy you, and then you bash them publicly? You look like a massive douchebag and Troy looks like a great company. For someone with a name like Bmwmdriver and owning a hydro-dipped AR, your attitude is very fitting.
