I am a "newbie" when it comes to rifles. I ordered a Standard A4 Upper from RRA about a month ago and already purchased an RRA Lower Receiver and parts kit. I just learned that the front gas block on the A4 Standard from RRA (which has a sight rail) is actually lower than the top rail of the receiver. When I asked RRA how I could mount a set of matched Troy Battlesites if the two mounting surfaces were not on the same plane, they just said I couldn't and would need to order their flip front site (gas block mounted) and an ARMS 40 or Midwest rear flip sight (which they sell, of course), and they claimed those were the only sites they know of that will properly align on their front gas block rail and A4 Receiver rail.
Is there some type of extended handguard or free float rail system that can be installed on an RRA A4 Upper so I can use a set of Troy BUIS that are mounted on the same plane? |

This should get you where you need to be. It's the Troy raised front sight which will put you back on the same plane... But you might want to check. They were out of stock the last time I checked. Or, you could always buy a longer rail and put a low profile gas block on. |
