I've seen a few posts on the DD fake 1.5 sights - but no real info on if it is correct or not.
I just purchased a set - and I think the front is real, and the rear is fake. I contacted the seller and he didn't know - and will take them back if I don't want them. Any thoughts? I only have a DD front sight to compare your pictures to. My front sight was bought from Brownells in November or December. Mine has the anti-glare ribbing and a different patent number but it looks like the shape stayed the same from the older models.
A few things that I noticed about your front sight: -The edges are very sharp near the base of it -The front sight post looks too short -The rear slant looks too straight and doesn't have the curve The second link you posted ( http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_18/585480_Daniel_Defense_front_sight__Real_vs_Fake.html ) appears to have good pictures comparing real vs fake. Hopefully DD will post on here so we have a definite answer. I hope you the best on getting your money back if it is a fake. It is scary how well products are being copied now. |
