Could someone clarify for me whether or not DD barrels use barrel extensions with extended feedramps - commonly known as "M4" barrel extensions?

I'd assumed at first that DD would, however, looking at the descriptions both on DD's and Bravo Company's websites, I see the barrel extensions listed as "A4," which for the time being, I can only equate to the M16A4 which has rifle (non-extended) feedramps.

Can someone clarify this for me?

Thanks,

I ordered the 16" 1:9 M4 from BCM and it has the feed ramps.

All of our barrels use A4 barrel extensions which have the enhanced feed ramps.

They are M4 ramps, or they are at least close to being M4 ramps.

It was hard to get the camera to focus on the ramps.

Thanks,

I've got a DD 10.3" barrel with a RIS II, but I wasn't able to check it, but I coulda sworn that it had M4 ramps until everything I saw said "A4" extension!

It seemed odd to me considering I installed it on a Colt M4 upper which has extended ramps, I would have expected more problems.

Could you explain to me where the nomenclature "A4" extension came from versus "M4" extension?  I only ask because it confused the heck out of me, as the military's M16A4 does not use an extended feedramp barrel extension, which is typically what I associate "A4" unless it is otherwise noted.

Thanks again,
