I recently purchased an RRA lower parts kit.  After installing the safety selector I noticed that it protrudes out a lot.  is a bit stiff as well.  However when I flip it around and use like a left handed shooter, it is flush and is much smoother.  I am using the correct detent and spring.  The selector installs correctly but once pressure is applied to the detent it pops out and stays like that.  Would you agree it is the selector?

I'm sorry...I'm not tracking with you fully.
How are you putting pressure on the detent, and how/where is it popping out?
Thanks.

By pressure I mean when I install the grip and the spring presses in on the detent. Selector sticks out when installed on the left side of the receiver as shown in the pic.  however when installed on the right hand side, it is normal and does not protrude out.  Could possibly be the channel where the detent slides in on the selector is not correct.

It's possible.  The detent can't change position in the receiver, so how it rides in the receiver is based on the detent tracks on the selector.  They should both be in relatively the same position on either end of the selector.  Some photos of the selector out of the receiver would help...trying to see where the selector tracks are on either end relative to the physical end of the selector. I can compare to our inventory and try to figure out what you have.
