| I'm in the market for a 308 rifle and am very interested in your LAR-8. I love the fact it takes FAL mags as here in NY FAL mags are easy to get preban and cheap allowing me to have more then 10 round mags. Preban mags are very hard to come by and and expensive for other manufacturers rifles. OK back on topic...Why do you not offer a chrome lined barrel in the 308? I was sold on your rifle till I noticed there was no chrome lining option. Please offer chrome lining for the LAR-8 so I dont have to buy another manufactures rifle and be stuck with 10 round mags or $125 each prebans. |

I am dead set on getting a LAR-8 one day due to the ability to take both standard and metric FAL mags. I had noticed it was not CL. It would be nice to be able to get a upgrade. Or maybe offer a stripped upper?
ETA: I am also from NY so more muzzle brake options would be nice to. |

Not as easy as you might think to find a 308 brake that BATFE tested and "sanctified" during the ban that we can then assure our customers is ban-compliant. Just because someone makes a muzzle device and claims it's a brake and not a flash suppressor doesn't necessarily make it so...We also insist that it works as a brake in order to call it one.

Chrome-lining actually is an option on the 16" mid gas-system HBARs. +$55 on MSRP. Haven't had much demand for CL on the 20" rifles. Steve/RRA It may be an option but I didn't know and other may not either. It's not on the website on the LAR-8 page as an option as it is with the LAR-15. Also how well do the FAL mags really work? Do they fit well in the mag well or is there a lot of play? |

Depends on the LAR-8 and the FAL/L1A1 mags in question.
We have modified the magwell over time, from one that was very tight to one that had a pretty generous allowance, and back to a middle ground. The magazine issue comes in the form of the FAL's great success-they were made everywhere, and over the years, as stamping tools became worn, some were replaced and others continued well past their ability to make magazines of the exact size, shape, etc...as they are supposed to be. There are an awful lot of FAL mags that won't fit most FALs, let alone function in all of them. We buy thousands and thousands of FAL mags at a time and have to sort them, test them inspect them...the failure rate (the mags that we can't use) is enormous...largely due to their maufactured domensions and tolerances. That was the genesis of the LAR-8 polymer magazine. We can control the exact size of th mag body, it's dimensions are constant, and we have made it adaptable to almost any LAR-8 magwell by including two protrusions wich will fit the mag into the larger magwells, yet can be filed away partially or in total, f r the tighter magwells. |

I have several rifles that are not chromed lined and never had an issue . your missing out on one hell of a rifle if you choose to not purchase. |
