| I have a Lar-8 that double feeds .I have tried mag after mag factory RR, gun show mags, metric and inch and nothing makes it any better. Anyone have something I can try to get it to feed right. Its my favorite AR and would like to get it running 100% without sending it in for warranty work if it can . |
| It does different things at different times pop the mag in and it wants to fall back out , other times two will get picked up and try to chamber other times it will catch the spent shell and crouch the spent casing and the two that tried to chamber .tried a brand new mag a friend got for his LR8 from rock river and it didn't help. have two steel and two poly mags on order from you and was going to wait and try them before I send it to you to see what you can do .like I said love the gun would love it more without the feed problems |

Ok made it to the range yesterday with the new mags from Rock River . I had put ten rounds in the night before and let it sit over night . those round cycled just fine, then it was back to having to clear jams about every three or four rounds and that was slow firing . I have tried different ammo and nothing seams to work any better but I will pick up some better rounds and see what happens.

Okay, it appears that I spoke too soon when I said I was only having trouble with mil surp ammo. Went out and shot 190 rounds of Brown Bear today with various mags and the last two rounds would have feed problems almost every time. Scottsfla, is your rifle completely stock? I know mine isnt, and I may put it back to stock to find out if it's anything that I did. I wouldnt think so because it has been fine up until now, but you never know. |

I have some modern production federal and hornady with brass cases I can try, but it may be a bit before I can get back to the range. Also, it used to work fine with brown bear... I'm still curious if scottsfla's rifle is stock. Most recent change for me was a PWS FSC30. |
| Yes the gun is stock other then a Battle Comp. and ACR with stock buffer and tube . Went out Friday and shot some better rounds, Winchester7.62 and Cor Loc . Gun still jammed . I even tried not rolling the shoulder as much with the recoil to see if I was limping it. |
| I might be calling tomorrow as well. I picked up some dummy rounds to see if I could simulate the problem at home. I got it to doublefeed and lock up good a couple times with the rifle completely back to stock minus the muzzle brake. It's also beating the crap out of the next round in the mag after picking one up. |
| It took about 80 - 100rnds for my 308 elite operator to start cycling correctly. I've been running mil surp from Aim through it with about 250rnds total. Ive also ran it pretty wet with slip 2000 ewl during its teething problems. I've felt that breaking in my RRA was alot like my Kimber. Very tight and took about twice as long to start running right, but once it was broke in no problems. ymmv |

Mine did this too at first. It turned out to be sharp corners on the face of the bottom two bolt lugs. As the bolt came forward, it first strips off the top round. Then the next round lifts up in the mag and the sharp corner of the bolt would dig in to the brass and slide it forward. I'd end up with one round about half in the chamber and the other jammed in underneath it. I rounded off the bolt lug corners a bit and then polished them. No more issues out of several hundred more rounds.
