I know this is probably a  stupid question, but i don't know the answer.
If i wanted to put a free float quad rail (from rra) on my mid length lar 8, could i put the rifle length rail on there without it being to long, and also what will i have to do about the gas block, will it go over it or will i have to buy a smaller one.
thank you

No problem.
The only way to put a rifle length tubular quad on the mid-length LAR-8 would be with a low-profile gas block (in place of the standard gas block that was on it form the factory) in the mid-position, and then having the handguard around it so to speak (the gas block would be on the barrel about three inches back from the forward end of the rifle-length quad).

so one more question if i could steve. i ordered a CTR for my lar 8, and it has alot of wiggle when locked down and when i called they said i need to get a milspec tube and that will fix my problem. so for the question will a regular old mil spec carbine tube work on the lar 8?

did you order a commercial or a mil-spec buttstock ? the reason I ask is they make both and maybe you just need the commercial one.

i ordered the commercial, which is what style of buffer tube is on the lar 8, but the guys at primary arms say that a mil spec tube is better and will have a better better for the ctr. so they told me to order the milspec version of the ctr and a milspec tube and then i will be good to go. the question was would a regualr ar 15 buffer tube work on a lar8. but i have already found the answer. i instaled and old a2 stock today so i know it will work.
but thanks anyways

For the LAR-8 we ONLY have the commercial diametre CAR extension, and we are fitting stocks to extensions as we assemble them.  The source of the wobble is probably tolerance stacking (extension at small end of its tolerance and that particular stock being at the large end of its tolerances).  I don't have a quick fix for it, jusdt a quess on the cause.
Do not use an extension made for a .223-length buffer as it will lock up the rifle, or worse.
