I purchased a factory SBR from RRA and have since upgraded to a LWRC PSD upper; now the BCG drags.  Took it to my gunsmith and he advised it was most likely the 2-stage trigger causing the problems.  The gun shoots fine, just that unless you let the bolt slam shut, you have to use the forward assist for about two clicks.

any suggestions?

currently on hold w/ RRA to speak w/ a gunsmith and see what they say

thanks

UPDATE:

Spoke w/ BJ the gunsmith at RRA.  Apparently this is an issue with "...the variances in the thickness of the bottom of the bolt carrier..."  Sounds completely logical to me.  Makes sense and matches what my local gunsmith was thinking.  According to BJ, they have experienced this same scenario with Bushmaster .308 uppers w/ RRA triggers.  The BCG binds on the hammer due to a compression issue with the hammer, due to the thickness issues with the bottom of the bolt.

Overall and excellent experience with RRA and BJ.  I did not feel rushed or like I was asking stupid questions.  He seemed like he was attentive to my questions and answered all of them; even offering suggestions to correct the issue.

Called LWRC and spoke w/ Justin;  LWRC was very concerned with the issue and I advised I had actually tried the upper on several different lowers - all experiencing the identical issue; with the exception of the HK 416 lower.  Justin requested I send the entire weapon to him for inspection / repair.  He took my information and is sending a call tag for pickup.

Excellent customer service with both RRA and LWRC

FINAL UPDATE - ISSUE RESOLVED:

After speaking with the LWRC gunsmith on the phone we determined the issue:  it was the commercial buffer tube.  Alas when the tube was manufactured it was not completely "concentric"; therefore when the full-auto carrier from the LWRC PSD upper would cycle, it would bind up in the commercial tube.

Replaced the factory / commercial buffer tube with a Mil-Spec tube and the problem is resloved.
