| I waiting for my first ever AR from RRA. It's a Varmint A4 with an 18 inch bull bbl. Steep learning curve on ARs. QUESTION - what other caliber or type uppers can I use with my lower? |

Between major manufacturers and custom makers, there are well over fifty caliber conversions available that will work on a standard lower half (although some require some non-permanent modifications)...from .17 to 50BMG. Steve/RRA edited because I can't type when I'm groggy |
| Steve, You are the man! New to ARs and mildly overwhelmed with all the available opitions, etc. I haven't founda reasource that I can study to determine whats what with ARs. I have an A4 Varmint being build by you guys, RRA, right now. Went .223 for the wife, (Honey, if it doesn't kick to bad, go ahead and buy it, I want to shot it too), but I'm interested in a different caliber for whitetail hunting and maybe long range target work. Trying to determine the limits of changing caliber in the most cost effective way with my A4 Varmint lower as the base, without permanently changing the gun. My T/C is child's play, I understand bolt gun modification, but these ARs are seemingly much more complex and adaptable. Any info and advice will be greatly appreciated by this AR novice. Very likely I'll buy RRA produces to modify my A4. Thanks for the advise on leaving my bull barrel alone. |
