If I order a 16" Stainless Steel Mid-length barrel, will it come with an M4 extension installed?

Assumption on my part:  20" or longer get rifle extensions and 16" and shorter get M4 barrel extensions.

I am not talking about the M4 ramps in a receiver now, but the barrel extension itself.

And I ask because I can get an upper receiver either with or without the ramps, but would prefer to have the ramps on a carbine length gun.

Also, what are the stainless barrels made from, what grade I guess is the proper term?  416?

Stainless bbls are 416R.
We don't use M4 extensions on any barrels.  The standard extension with the ramps extended into the upper work just fine for us (and thousands upon thousands of users-civilian plinkers, hunters, home defenders, competitiors, LE users, government agencies, foreign militaries, etc...))in both semi-only and select-fire rifles.

What I am trying to avoid is the picture below marked BAD.

I have two Colt uppers(just the receivers) that have the ramps in the receiver.  If I buy your SS 16" Mid and put it in one of those receivers will it look like that picture marked BAD below?

I have two of your rifles currently, one 10.5 and one 16 and the extensions(ramps) look opened up more than what is shown to be the rifle extensions in the pics.  I see where the ramp has been extended into the receiver, it's shiny and not black.

The "bad"is exactly what you would have with any rifle extension and an already "M4" ramped receiver.

I have a factory barrel (RRA Varmint) , and although they dont have M4 extensions,  the ground area does extend a little into my upper receiver. How far does it have to be cut into the receiver to be considered M4?

Steve can correct me if I'm wrong but what they do is use a rifle extension and then extend the ramp into the receiver slightly.

The M4 extension ramps are wider.

I ended up buying the ss barrel from ADCO and they converted(modified) the rifle extension to M4 and it lines up perfectly with the M4 ramped receiver I had on hand.  If I did not already have the M4 receiver I wouldn't have bothered.

You are correct...rifle extensions with feedramps extended into the receiver.
