Ok, buddy placed an order in early Apr. for a lower reciever and a buttstock from RRA through a dealer here in N Utah. They first told him that it would be a 12-16 week wait.

Now that that time is nearly up he calls back, asks about his order and the rep. at the store tells him that the lead time for RRA parts is now out to 8 months.

8 months to get a stripped lower reciver and a buttstock?!?!? Cripes!

Is this true? Is the current lead time 8 months or is the rep blowing smoke? I know that RRA has had a lead time of a couple months in the past.... but its hard to believe that it is now out to 8 months.

I kinda feel bad because I was the one who highly reccommended RRA because I have a couple RRA ARs and absolutely love them. Now a few months later he has a handful of parts and from what the rep said an addtional few months to wait.

Any RRA reps that can shed a little light on this? Hoping to have my buddy all setup before the coyote season really gets started.

eta: Do you guys still have the white RRA window decals? The website doesnt specify a color at the moment. Got some a couple years ago and they are for sure starting to show wear and the last time I ordered one I got a black one. (It doesnt show up very well on the tinted windows of my truck )

Someone's blowing smoke up someones...well, you get the idea.
No, we're still at right around 4 months (16 weekish).  We're filling March orders now, and will be moving on into April's orders as soon as possible.
Yes..the transfers are still available, but scarce. The one on the back window of my truck is getting a little ragged also...to many passes with an ice scraper I suppose.

Great, thanks for the info Steve. You guys rock.

Everything I ever got from you guys was within a week of the time I was told. That is what raised the red flags for me is the doubled lead time... ain't no way that you guys are eight months behind.

We figure that the place never actually ordered the lower and buttstock and now that the original due date is near they are CYAing themselves, ordering the lower and stock and stating that your lead time is now 8 months instead of what it really is.

Man, makes it look bad on you guys if they pull garbage like that and the people they tell it to don't have access to something like ARFCOM or know better about RRA.

That is good news as I ordered my 2 lowers right at the Feb/March line and I don't have them yet...  That means I should have it any day now.... I sure hope the above is correct.....

No...stripped lowers are at approximately 4 months.  Rifles and uppers still anywhere from 4-12 weeks, on average.

I don't think so...I hope not. I was quoted 4 to 6 weeks from once source and 8 weeks from RRA's Cust Ser for a complete 18" Varmint. I'd imagine complete rifles and uppers/lowers have priority over the parts list.

I'm 4 weeks into waiting period and am not holding up well. I've been reloading all sorts of variations to try once it comes in. A couple hundred rounds to break in everything and then a bunch of micro batches to see what performs the best. Now all I need is the rifle. I'm sure the wait will be worth it.

I waited about 3 months and some change for my 24" Varmint rig a couple years back....

It is WELL worth the wait.

I bet I can guess who the dealer in Utah is. I placed an order for a DSA STG58 with a dealer inUtah, they said 12 weeks. I called after 12 weeks and they said 4 more months and tried to raise the price. I cancelled the order called a local dealer and had the rifle in 9 weeks. Tell your buddy to order somewhere else.

Yea, my buddy went it and raised a stink about it and they told him that they could get a Bushy lower rec. (which they want an addtional $10 for hahaha.. yeah right)  by the end of the month, but they are sticking to the 8 month lead time on RRA stuff.

Think hs is going somewhere else for his lower... although he is still waiting on his scope riser/mount from RRA from them as it's already paid for... hopefully around Dec. they say

I'm pretty sure that the riser (and the lower if he keeps the order in place for it)will be there long before December.
