First my apologies since this has been discussed before, but do need some information.

I currently have a RRA flat top mid length with the standard front sight.  From what I understand, one EO Tech holosight will co witness  with the front sight.  Another model will show at a higher point.

Steve, can you direct me to the various model numbers?  Also - it would seem that a co wittness with the front sight would be problematic since some of the target would be obsured.  What's your opinion on the options?

Thanks for your comments/advise.

Tom,
The EO 511/512 and 551/552 models have an integral base for a flat top upper receiver that puts the dot of the circle-dot directly on yop of the front sight post when mounted directly to the upper receiver.
The FBI did find the "busy" sight picture to be an issue, and asked us to make an EOTech mount to take the optic up and out of true co-witness...the Dominator, and now Dominator-2 mounts were the outcome of that request.  Teh Dom. raises the mounting surface by 1/4 inch, which leaves the iron sights in the lower third of the optic's window when sighting.
The newer EO553 and 557, while having different mounting platforms, both have a buil-in integral riser (amazingly, 1/4" was used) that puts the iron sights in lower third location in relation to the optic's window when mounted to a flat top, without the need for any typoe of intermediate mount/platform.  In fact, the 553, due to the location of its cross bars, wil not fit on a Dominator mount.
Hope that helps.
