Hey Steve - Have a few questions before I place my order for a RRA NM A4 rifle: 1. Will the front sight on the NM A4 with NM removable carry handle allow the use of a scope without issue? Is there a recommended scope base and rings? 2. I understand I can order a post ban barrel sans the flash hider - Will the muzzle be finished with an 11 degree crown? 3. What are the pull weights on the 2 stage trigger? 4. Current lead time on shipping - Please be realistic as I am prepared to wait. 5. Should I order from a RAA Premier Dealer or will my local shop/FFL holder be OK for the same lead time on shipping? 6. Are the RRA rifles limited to .223 Remington ammo only or will the also accommodate 5.56mm safely? Thank you in advance for answering my long list of questions as I realize this is only a small part of your duties at RRA. |

Let me try to answer in order: 1. Unless you're planning a very long variable power scope, or one with extremely low magnification, the front sight housing shouldn't be an issue. On the long bodied scopes, you can actually physically be restricted by the lrngth of the optic and clearance of the housing (rare, but it has happened). With low-powered scopes, you may still see the housing. Generally at 3x or higher, the magnification "ghosts" the housing as the focal point is well past it. 2. Yes, an unthreaded bbl will still have an 11 degree target crown...just no device on the barrel that may create turbulence at the muzzle. 3. Trigger weight should be just over the match legal 4.5 lbs...probably in the neighborhood of 4.75-5lbs total weight. Sometimes just a little heavier. As the trigger group wears together, you get approx 1/8 to 1/4 lb reduction in weight. 4. Lead times are running approximately eight weeks. many are going out sooner, but some are taking longer as well. 5. You can order from any FFL holder, as long as we have a copy of their FFL on file at time of order. You may have a higher likelihood of finding one in-stock at one of our premier dealers, but they don't receive preferential treatment on build times or shipping. 6. The .223 Wylde chamber is a match chamber for semi-autos, and allows the use of .223 Reminton or 5.56mm NATO rounds without any problems. If I missed any, or if you need additional info, let me know.
