I know this is going to sound really dumb, but the consequences of a mistake will look even dumber.

My receiver says 5.56 on the side, no mention of .223.  I was under the impression that my rifle would be wylde chamber.  Wouldnt it be on the rifle if it was?

You do not have the Wylde chamber. Yours would be 5.56. You can look in their catalog at your rifle and you will see the chamber in the specs description.

Hmm, I hope thats not the case.

Anyway, on their website everything seems to be wylde chamber.

New Codes:
The actual base part number from our parts system/catalog, located over the chamber. These are the most common. Unless indicated otherwise, all stainless barrels are 1:8 twist and all moly barrels (chrome-lined or not)are 1:9. All 16" moly barrels have a NATO chamber, while the 20" moly and all stainless barrels have a Wylde chamber.

200 =moly CAR

Well de de de for me.  Found the barrel codes thread.  Mine is 200, so I guess I didnt get the wylde chamber.

I guess I can only blame myself for that mistake.  I assumed based on the RRA website that all were Wylde, since it says that next to all of the rifles in the .223 cat.

In any case, it doesnt matter.  I was only sweating it because I already loaded up on .223 per the owner of the store I bought the weapon from.  Since I can still shoot it from my 5.56, no biggie.  Live and learn!

It seems that now Im answering my own questions.  Seems that I can shoot .223 out of a 5.56.  Searching is goodInserting foot into mouth.

I have a RRA in similar configuration and with 55 gr wolf it shoots 1.5" at 100 yards. Pretty happy with the accuracy. I am hoping to get out this weekend with some of my better loads to see what it will shoot.

All .223 stainless bbls and the 20" moly/chrome-lined molys are Wylde.  All of the other moly/chrome-lined moly bbls are NATO chambered.  All of the rifles and upper halves in our catalog list the chamber under the caliber line item in their description, and all of the barrels include which chamber is used in them onthe barrel page as the first item in each description.
Thanks.
