I have a RRA NM 20" I bought new last May. It has about 2500 trouble free rounds thru it. I clean it after every outting.

When the bolt carrier is actioned it appears the 'cam bolt pin' is rubbing inside the upper where it slides back & forth. In addition to the black wearing off where the bolt pin is rubbing it looks like a little aluminum is being scuffed off too. This scuffing is on the ejection port or right side. The area where I see bare aluminum is about 1 inch long. Its not deep but the pin is rubbing across the upper during action. The sides of the cam bolt pin are nolonger black coated but are shiney bare metal.

Also inside the upper but opposite of the ejection port just past where there is a relief or cut-out cast into the upper the leading edge of the bolt carrier is nicking the metal.
Other than these two areas there is no evidence of wear or excessive wear on the upper where the bolt actions.

The 'bolt key' ...Where the bolt key seals to the bolt carrier it is leaking gas and fouling. When I put a few drops of G96 in the down the bolt key tube the lube leaks from between the key and the carrier. Its not a drip leak but a fast seepage. Is this normal?
Posting pics on this forum isn't working for me but if you have an email addy I can email pics of this to you.
This is my first AR and I have never had the opportunity to closely examine another AR for comparison purposes.
Thank You

Edit: When I wrote 'lower' i meant 'upper'.

Some wear is normal, but the photos will help us see what you're describing.  I also think that you said Lower" when you meant "upper", which might be confusing the issuee a little.  Please e-mail me at [email protected],and we'll take a look at what you're describing.

Yes, you are correct, upper and not lower.

Give a couple days to email pics to you.
I'll be trying to capture images inside the upper so I don't know if they will come out so good but I'll do my best.
Thanks for your quick respons.
