I just got a new UTE 2. From what I am reading it dosen't really offer the best options as far as mouting optics/sights on it. I want to put a EOTech 512 on it. What would you all suggest for being the best way for me to go about this?

What is the problem just mounting it on the pic rail in front of the sight?

The original UTE was set up to be the correct height for the Aimpoint ring.  The UTE 2's rail height is the same as an A4 receiver, so as long as the ring/mount is the correct height foer a flat top, it is also the correct height for the UTE 2.

Well, nothing I guess I was just looking for some advice on what options I had and what my sight picture would look like with those different options. I was just worried that mounting an EOTech right to the rail the way it is now my sight picture might be obscured.

Steve, I was considering the Aimpoint also and it was kind of a toss up between that and the EOTech, do you think the Aimpoint fits this gun better?

Six off one, half dozen of the other.
The EoTech (551/552 and 511/512) were made to mount directly to the upper receiver's rail and achieve true co-witness.  The Aimpoint would require a seperate mounting ring made for co-witnessing, and because of the rear sight's consruction, it should probably be a forward canting/cantilever mount that will mount onto the receiver but put the Aimpoint partially over the hand guard.

Thanks, I think I'll just stick with the EOTech.
