This is probably a dumb question but how do you holster these pistols? I suppose some type of harness under the arm? What classifies these as a pistol and not a short barrel rifle? I have my permit to carry; I suppose this qualifies? hock.gif

A traditional holsters not really an option with these.  A sling is the best (only?) way to go.  A short barreled rifle (SBR) would have an actual stock, fixed of collapsing.  Check out

Simply:
Stock = rifle.
No stock or ability to mount one=pistol.
Once a rifle, always a rifle.
It's actually a bit more involved than that, but suffice to say that a short (less than 16") barrel on a stocked lower, without proper licensure, is not a good thing at all....but you can put as long or short of a barrel as you ish on a pistol lower.
We're going the extra mile and marking specific lowers as "pistol" lowers so that there is no question as to their origin and lineage.
Thanks.

Steve,
Your reply just sparked another question. So, it sounds like I could order the LAR-15 pistol and have RRA install the ACE Skeleton (shorty) Stock?

No...any stock on a short barrel is a federal felony without the proper paperwork.  Just the tube , without the capability of putting a stock on it, is essentially a loophole that they haven't figured outhow to close.  Short barrel with a stock has been on the books since 1934, and there have been people who have gone to prison for it.

Thanks for the clarification. I must have misread your prior post. I felt like it may be too good to be true.

Steve, what is the overall total length of the LAR-15 pistol (A4) with the 7 inch barrel and regarding the A4 model with the quad rail free float, will the EOTech attach directly or is the RRA Dominator mount still required? It appears that the Dominator mount has a rear sight built in which I dont think would be needed or desired on a pistol without a front sight. Any thoughts on this?

Tepin,
OAL of the 7" pistol is 23".
The receiver and handguard dimensions are the same as the rifle, so an EOTech mounted directly to the flat top will work just fine without anything besides the EOTech's integral mount.
