On Dec 2nd 2009, I ordered the Primary Arms M3 multi-reticle red dot after waiting for it to come in. I could not have been happier with what I received. It was a high quality red dot and served my purposes perfectly. I sighted it in right away and I believe I even did a review of it on these very forums right after. Here are a couple shots of it on my AR. Most current pics before failure are on my other computer.
Well, on my most recent range trip with my AR, I shot about 20ish rounds though it then the red dot shut off. I though the battery may have died, so I took out the spare that I pack and put it into the unit. It did not turn on. I then took the battery out again and noticed the black piece fall out. When I looked into the battery compartment, I noticed the pieces of where the positive contact would go. The wire and connector are still there, as you can see from the photos, but without them held there by that plastic wafer, it does not make contact and does not work. I would venture a guess that if I could take it apart and put in a substitute, it would still work, but I could not see a way to take it apart to do that.

Overall, I am a little disappointed, but i was still really happy with the unit. It lasted me two years and probably about 5,000 rounds. I bought the Larue mount so that if i ever went to an Aimpoint, I would already have the good mount, but did not want to spend the $$ on the real deal. This was an excellent choice and would do it again. I highly recommend primary arms and their red dots. Its funny too because i looked at a real Aimpoint at a 3gun mach once and noticed how there was very little options as far as the brightness settings. The PA one has many more brightness settings. I am not sure where i am going to go from here, but it is getting cold and I will not be doing much shooting in the winter. I guess I have time to figure that out. Thanks!
