A friend of mine just got one of these and is having a problem with it turning off when the two allen heads on top are tightened. You get them barely snug and it kills the dot. I'm the one that suggested this as a good starter reflex sight, so I want to figure it out for him. Is anyone else experiencing this problem or did he get a dud?

Check to make sure the contact don't sit lower than the bottom of the sight.  If they are they will spread out from the battery when everything is screwed down.  If that doesn't work, try putting a piece of scotch tape under the battery to see if its shifting while being tightened down

If that does not contact us at [email protected] and let us swap it out.

So he got the new one. Thanks again Marsh. That was fast. I will make sure he gets the old one back to you ASAP. It worked fine until he mounted it on the weapon. He instantly thought about trying to get his money back or getting another Micro Dot (tube style).I told him to try sticking some tape on the back of the battery for the new one even though it didn't work on the first one (thanks for the advice supermoto88). Problem solved. Thick electrical tape works good. Then he tried three more popular brand batteries without doing the "tape trick" and they all worked just fine. He is a lot happier now. Time to go shooting.

I am a bit confused. Did the replacement do the same thing? We open and test each unit and I now have them make sure the mount screws are tight.

The screws are tight. The battery that came with it must be slightly smaller than the other batteries it came with. He can put one of your batteries in it (without tape stuck to the back of it) and it flickers and shuts off periodically. Then he puts a different brand battery in it and it work just fine. It worked great with the three batteries he bought locally, but not with any of the batteries that came with it.

We will check for that before shipping from now on. Thanks!

I think I'll have to get one now.

I'm having the same issue with mine.  I will try the tape and then try buying a different battery.  Let you know if it works.

Interesting. I have two of these little gems and have not had a problem.

They still have the original batteries in them.

It would be interesting to measure the batteries with a caliper and see just FYI.

Well that seems to help.  It happened to me at the range. I wasn't sure what had gone wrong but took the battery out and reinserted and it was fine. Fired a few more rounds and it went out again.  I won't get to the range for a few weeks but I'm hoping this solved the problem.
