Other than that the new carriers look great. Our build post Text was sent to Joe this morning and I had a reply within minutes that he would get them shipped out to us. Joe needs a raise for working OT on this

Well, I was able to get out again today. Had 90 flawless rounds. Was not going for accuracy, just wanted to get some more rounds in. Destroyed a small stump about 40-50 yards away. So far, I'm very pleased with my purchase after receiving the proper carrier. I do not see any deformations on the carrier or any other internals. Granted, I am only 150 rounds in so far. Once I'm able to get the round count up a little more I'll post some pictures, just doesn't seem worth the effort yet. How's everyone else's rifles holding up? Would love to hear from some more people who sent theirs back for carrier replacement. I wonder when we are going to see them roll out the CHF version or when the premium will ever be in stock..... | Waiting on the brown truck to make the delivery back to the house. Still surprised to see that PSA is not doing a "tiered" approach with the complete rifles. The complete rifles also do not say cast carrier. I am wondering if I am the only person who bought a complete rifle that is getting the carrier replaced with a forged unit. |

But, as far as other complaints or unsatifisfed customers I feel like I have not read much. Everyone is bashing these rifles and receivers due to the roll out. But if mine keeps performing as it is, I'd seriously look at their CHF version for my next purchase. I think it would be a good candidate for a cerakote job then just pick my furniture of choosing. |

Just got my rifle. As i said originally, it looked fantastic. My only complain was the carrier. I didn't even take it out to shoot it because I wasn't comfortable shooting the rifle. The new rifle carrier is head and shoulders above what I had previously. If this is what I would have gotten from the get-go, I'd be spreading the news far and wide. While I am happy with how my rifle looks now, I still have to go out and shoot it. I'm still a little confused on the tiered levels of build kits but no tiered rifle units. If this rifle works as well as it looks now, it will be a winner. I think if folks are looking at the PSA kits, they would be better off NOT getting the Freedom kits and sticking with forged and billet kits. I don't think PSA should even be offering cast carrier kit. That is just my humble opinion. |

Silly Question, maybe not.
Are the barreled receiver kits considered an FFL item, or are they considered essentially 80% kits that need some work to be considered a firearm? The completed rifles state they must be shipped to an FFL, but the barreled receivers do not. Thanks in advance. |

Hello gentlemen, this my first forum post and this looks like a good place to do it. I received my PSAK47 GB2 blem barreled receiver today and thought I'd give a report on it. If there is a blemish, I can't find it. ALL rivets look perfect, the front sight is centered and straight, it didn't even need adjusting. Front sling loop is on the hand guard ferrule. The action is smooth, the gas piston is riveted. No gap between the gas tube and gas block. About half a thread gap between the muzzle brake and front sight block. Trigger is better than expected. The parts kit took about 30 minutes to install. The rifle is a ton of fun to shoot and functions perfectly, I am as pleased as I can be.

| Good to see positive reports on these. When I heard PSA was doing them I started digging through my parts bins and snagging cheap cast-offs online in order to get all the pieces that don't come in the kit with the objective of building my wife an AK (she wants an 'ugly' battlefield-pick-up looking AK, who am I to argue?!) with one of PSAs kits. If I keep hearing good things about these I'll be more inclined to pull the trigger sooner rather than later. |

| I really like this thing, it's not my first AK, but I like it better than my WASR already. I looked it over hard and found nothing I didn't like. I've shot Ruger's long enough that a cast bolt carrier doesn't scare me. I bought it for use on the farm and it will be perfect for that, the Coyotes, hogs and armadillos around here are in for a rough time, It's a good rifle. |
| Love seeing the good reviews coming in. I am very happy with my rifle so far, going to try to get out this afternoon and put some more rounds through it- I've ran yugo mags, magpul and bakelites so far with no issues. Got an ak103 slab side I will be trying out today. I'll come back and post tonight with an update. |

So I went shooting today and took my PSAK-47. I shot about 500 rds through it with not a single issue. I used the Magpul MOE AK mags and every single one fed with zero issues. I got the red dot sighted in at 50yds and was ringing steel at 300yds. I checked the carrier(they replaced the cast carrier with a forged unit) and you could hardly tell it was shot except for carbon on.
So for this I say kudos PSA on a good product. If this had been the rifle I had originally gotten I would over the moon ecstatic. I am glad they made it right by swapping the cast carrier for the forged one. I can whole-heartedly recommend purchasing a PSAK-47 if you get one with a forged or billet carrier. I cannot endorse purchasing a PSAK-47 with a cast carrier. Folks may not have an issue but IMO AK's should not have cast carriers. |

I finally made time to shoot mine since getting it back from PSA. Everything seemed to function fine (although I noticed the extractor pin sticking halfway out of the bolt when I was cleaning - that has me a bit concerned).
I'm not exactly happy with the red wood furniture, though. I only shot 6 times and the grip almost came off (the screw was tight before shooting). I can probably solve that with some blue loctite. The stock, however, just wants to wobble up and down no matter how much I tighten the screws - screws I had to buy since they weren't in the kit. Add those 2 things to my having to trim the lower handguard to get the upper handguard on, and I'm about ready to replace it all with Magpul and see how that works. |

My friend who ordered two of these things has sent them back for repair.
The front sights are stuck in elevation. Got the return label on the 6th, shipped on the 10th, delivered on the 12th. Silence since. Maybe if CS was more responsive or less erratic... UPDATE: Get them back today. Nothing changed. We are now informed that the only sight tool that recommend to work with their AK is the $31.49 "Magnamatic AK Front Sight Tool" and to buy one of those before we bother them again. Happily the Arsenal AA1401A I ordered in after he sent them in works. Now that I've plunked down near $40 for the Cadillac of AK elevation tools I can work on the Pinto of AKs. I'm beyond pissed off at this response. Maybe if they'd mentioned that their sights were extra tight or something and had a recommendation for the higher end tools I could say I'd advised my friend completely and well. But they don't mention that at all, nor do they sell the magical tool. |

Could be a matter of PSA not being satisfied with their early efforts and going through their whole manufacturing process from top to bottom. That would take some time. I dunno. I have a liberty kit. Just refinished the furniture. All I need now is stock hardware and the op spring / rod thingy.

Short update: got the PSA action spring / rod thingy, fits fine. I had to do fitting on both my lower handguard and stock (not a surprise, BFPU used/abused wood with at least 2 layers of finish on the wood). Got the lower HG on last night, and the stock is 98% there. Would have finished it but it was 95 degrees in my garage and I was sweating bullets. Anyway, it'll be done tonight. Next step is installing the FCG. Should be relatively painless, but we'll see! After that it will be time to pew pew. I've got cases of golden tiger begging to be shot.

| New to the forum. My brother in law bought me the new gen 2 MOEKOV. He gifted it to me, and I was so disappointed. The bolt actually came off the feed ramp when charged all the way back, sticking in an open position. The slightest pressure to the dust cover would cause the bolt to release and fly forward. So freaking dangerous. To top it off the sight was canted to the left. I sent it back a month ago, and recently followed up. PSA rep said, I have no notes here and we don't have a clue as we are backed up. They offered me my money back which sketched me out. Do they even know how to fix it? Either way, if I ever do get it back I hope it actually functions how it should. If not I'll just get a WASR. |

Someone more knowledgeable might be along to correct me... but...
I think the rear spring guide, which doubles as the latch for the top cover, is supposed to block the bolt carrier from going back far enough to disengage the rails. Looking at my GB2 that's true. I can't get the carrier back far enough to pop out of the rails with the guide and spring in place. That says to me that the rifle with the problem has either too large a gap where the bolt carrier comes out for disassembly or the rails on the carrier are too short. Since they offered a refund instead of a repair, I'm betting the rails on the receiver were made wrong since a new bolt carrier would be pretty simple. |
