What I like is PSA has done all the really PITA work with trunions and trigger guard. I build 1 AK form the ground up and sold all my kits after that, Very nice PSA. this. ive been sitting on a romy g kit for a WHILE. now. This barreled receiver kit, along with other parts that PSA is offering may just make AK's building FUN again. |

Admittedly, I'm not an AK guy, so I preemptively fall on my sword of AK ignorance. Between this thread and the "AK timeline" thread, many are all fired up about the lack of a "sidemount." What's the BFD?
That said, PSA did say there would be several models of their AK but a bunch of people are writing off the model that was just released as though there won't be more to follow. Any smart business (and I use that term VERY loosely when talking about PSA) wouldn't blow their wad all at one time. You trickle new product out to maintain suspense and demand. You guys are clammering around like a bunch of hungry caged monkeys during feeding time at the zoo. Y'all need to fire up a little G&R's Patience. |

I know the mount is for an optic, but is the side mount the only option? Is there no other aftermarket option? The vast majority of AKs I have encountered didn't have any optic on them what so ever so i guess I just didn't understand the urgent nature of the mount making or breaking the rifle. |

I have never built an AK, but from quick reading it appears that most of the hard work is done. What tools will I need to assemble the AK using the parts kit and barreled receiver? Any guidance is greatly appreciated You won't need any tools to complete it with both the build kit and the barreled receiver. |

Other options include dust cover mounts, scout mounts, and gastube mounts as well. the russians, origionally used a rivited side mount, much like a PU scope look to it. |

Thanks for the comments. We have added a few more items to the page. They will be in stock soon.
We are working on both a proper side mount, and a rear sight mount that allows the irons to be used with the optic. Unfortunately, they were not ready in time for the launch, but will be along before long. |

It's not really specific in the product description. That information is kinda important for 922r compliance. |
