I received my lower receiver vice block (Item #6104) yesterday and tried it out. I find that the magazine catch does not engage into the slot in the vice block. It looks like the notch in the block is a little to low and the catch wont engage. I can remedy this by using a Dremel to enlarge the notch in the block a little. Has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks

I've had magazines with the same issue and the Dremel fix has always worked for me.

You do know that you remove the upper before using a lower block like that, right? They are a "through" design (meaning they protrude up past the top of the lower), thus they will not seat with the upper on. That's why the mag catch notch seems low, it's because the block isn't inserted all the way in/up.

I didn't even think of that. I was using it to hold the complete rifle as I worked on the rail and such.  That makes a lot more sense, thank you.

Not always the case. Mine (which appears to be the same as PSA, but from a different brand) has no problems with the upper on the lower. Seats flush and the magazine catch functions.

I just got my magazine block out. It's not from PSA. I don't remember who the seller was, but it works very well.

It has 2 notches on it. One notch on each side. Each notch is cut at a different height, for I believe a choice on whether or not you keep your upper assembly attached. This way you can work on the whole rifle or just the lower assembly.
