When I bought my PA-10 lower, I asked them what BCG it would use. They said DPMS LR308 parts. I then go to Midway and order a DPMS BCG for a pretty decent price. NOW I find out that the forward assist for the PA-10 upper won't work with the DPMS LR carrier. Wasted money.
Typical PSA upper management smooth move... they can't even give their employees the correct information. |

While i could use the bolt you bought in my dpms upper recever, i was wondering if the bolt had serrations all the way back or not so it would work on both types. im assuming by your post it does not? |

No serrations at all. The DPMS system used a shelf on the carrier that the FA engaged. Sorry-ass PSA. While the employees bust their tails in the retail stores, management sits on high and drops every ball they can find. If it was any other business besides black rifles, they would have already gone under from poor management. |

Link Did they say DPMS style 308 bolt carrier or specifically say LR308? Never mind - the LR308 doesn't even have a forward assist. Don't blame the PSA employees if all you heard was DPMS and didn't notice there were multiple styles (which by a stock photo you'd know would or wouldn't work) |

i am sorry that happened to you, but thank you for posting this here.
i am planning a .308 build and even though i knew there was a new dpms 308 i would'nt have thought about this and would have bought the cheaper of the two. the good news though is it seems like the build it yourself companies are finially getting on the same page and using compatible parts. compatibility of parts is why i have not strayed from 5.56 yet. hopefully that will change next month. has anyone considered using the mega .308 barrels, they are guaranteed to shoot sub moa @ 100 yards with match ammo. edit to add - would'nt |

The G2 BCG is shorter than any traditional AR10 / 308AR. The G2 extractor, extractor pin, and gas rings can interchange between the LR308 or G2 bolt but the bolt itself, carrier, firing pin, etc. will not interchange between rifles. http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_627/247573_GII_Cross_Compatibility_Chart.html |
| I'm thinking the Rock River LAR-8 BCGs might work with the PSA-10... Rock River LAR-8 BCG |

yea after looking at them i think so too. i thought i had mentioned that in a thread but idk.. It would be nice to have psa's input here. |
| Fellas be patient , I know its a PITA as this really shouldnt have been released yet , I talked to someone at Aero Precision and they will be launching the new .308 BCG next week that will work with the forward assist. Its coming so get your wallets out and be ready , Im sure they will sell quick . |

I'm kind of glad I didn't hold out on these receivers and went with the Aero .308 receivers. The lines on the Aero receivers are much more appealing. reemmber what i posted above is a DPMS upper on a PSA .308 Lower.. the PSA upper and lower match up beautifully. |
