I recieved the PSA premium full auto bcg (with logo) yesterday I took it to the range today to test out along with my new upper. When I got home, I started to clean it and noticed the staking on the gas key didn't look as nice as the staking on my other PSA (no logo) bcg. I have two questions,

1. Has anyone else who's ordered this bcg have the same problem with their staking?
2. Is there anything PSA can do for me? Or am I SOL since its been fired?

Pics:

Really? A similar post is on reddit and the general consensus is that the staking is sub par. When compared to my other bcg I agree.

The staking is perfectly fine.

Staking isn't even a requirement if the screws are torqued correctly. If there is metal displaced enough to touch the screws, it's fine. If you're still concerned (really shouldn't be) then you can wrap the carrier in a towel, put it in a vice and take a punch to finish it off yourself. Over staking can crack the screws, which will cause far more issues than under staking.

A bunch of people who received carriers with staking like the bottom one bitched that it was too much. They backed off the pressure on the machine that stakes the key and they look like your other one. I have one of each just like you and they are both fine.

Yes, really.

That staking is gtg.  It moved enough of the metal to prevent the bolts from backing out.  I would gladly shoot that all day long.

Well looks like I overeacted. Thanks for the feedback guys.

It's not exactly the gold standard of staking, but as long as there is metal to metal contact then it is gonna be "in spec" and gtg. When one of mine looks like that I like to counter stake the screws with an auto punch, just for good measure. You can buy an auto punch at lowes or home depot for less then $10.00. With a staked bcg key and counter staked screws you can rest assured that baby will NEVER come loose from use. Here is a pic. You can kinda see it in the pic. I am ocd, so after I counter stake the screws I black out the newly made divot with cold blue.

I always thought the staking on the BC was excessive. I like the new ones a lot better. The staking on my bushmaster is half that even, and it never came loose.

It is fine. Metal is moved onto the screw.  It is less aggressively staked than the other.  You don't have to mangle the gas key to properly stake it.

Staking looks OK to me.  As long as the metal is displaced to stop the bolt from moving should be GTG.

Looks ok to me.

If it bothers you to much I'll take it off your hands.

At a considerably discounted rate though, because it's used and has iffy staking.

That staking is FINE (actually done right). People have gotten used to sloppy over staked carriers where the staking is so overdone it goes OVER the bolts (that's useless and just sloppy crappy work). The correct staking is just to have the staked metal touching/pressing on the screws, not enough to smash it over the screws (I cringe when I see those).
GTG (and done right).

If I had a choice, I would choose the lighter staked one.
