They could post up cardboard barreled P-tacs and the walmart crowd would snap them up at the magic "$299" price point like it was a free buffet. Seriously... completely unlined (no melonite, no CHF, no CL) will sell FAST.... so long as it's that magic $299. I honestly don't know who's buying all these massive amounts of unlined barreled uppers (just to save $80-100), unless it's people who have no idea about barrels/linings, or people looking for the cheapest stuff they can possibly get (likely with plans to sell during the next panic). PSA should do a test, post up a plastic barreled $299 upper to test my theory

maybe its the government. theres nothign wrong with an unlined barrel. some even say theyre more accurate. many of the guns we fought wars with were not lined. see this topic : lined versus unlined granted i try to buy CHF and CMV CL MP etc when i can, but unlined is good to go as well if the price is right for folks. |
