hello everyone, I have a question for the experts here, Is it possible to use a commercial spring and buffer in a mil-spec tube. The reason I ask is that I have a commercial complete buffer, but I now would like to replace it because I would have a better selection of stocks. thanks in advance for your input.

There isn't such a thing as a "commercial" spring and buffer.  The buffer weights are based off how many (or none) tungsten weights are inside.  Springs are generally the same size or close unless you start talking about a rifle length spring and carbine length.

Any spring and buffer configuration designed for a collapsible stock will fit into either the commercial mil-spec stock.

If I was to suggest...

Depending on what kind of carbine you have, I'd replace the commercial spec receiver extension (buffer tube) with this:

BUFFER TUBE

With a Tactical Springs Blue (which I wish Palmetto would start carrying HINT! HINT!):

SPRINGCO WEB STORE

And one of these buffers:

PSA H2 BUFFER

And call it a day.  Mil-Spec receiver extensions tend to give you a little more variety when it comes to purchasing stocks.  And replacing a receiver extension is a relatively easy process for most gunsmiths (or at least it should be but as I've seen over the past year, nothing is out of bounds for folks that work in Billy Bob's Basement Bait Shop and WECSOG) that are versed in the AR15.  The 7075 buffer tube is the stronger of the types and the H2 buffer shouldn't ever give you a problem.  The Tactical Springs Blue is one of the best I've seen so far.

I ran my PSA with the same setup, although it was a midlength gas system, with zero issues.  You could go with a normal carbine spring and probably achieve the same results, but I trust the Springco without hesitation.

Just a suggestion.
