Pretty awesome, AIM's trade ins always seem to look the most hammered though.  I wish they provided more detail in the description.  Something about the barrel/rifling etc.

we try to take a pic of the worst one, so everyone gets something better then pictured.
Bores are all chrome lined, so they will look great.

Clydes Armory has LE6945 uppers for $649. Got one, finish had typical cop duty wear on the finish but bore and bolt were fine and came with a PRI gas buster M48
https://clydearmory.com/agency-trade-in-colt-le6945-complete-upper-receiver/

Also Acme Sports has trade in  LE6944s in stock  for $1199  I have seen uppers go for close to it so getting a factory SBR Colt lower too, I am good with the price https://www.acmesportsinc.com/products/colt-00118628-118628-4711

I have one coming and update when I have it if they were decent or not

The upper pictured at Clyde's appears to have a AAC 51t blackout brake. Did yours come with one installed?

Yes. Worked great but I hate muzzle breaks especially on short barrels due to the blast. Sure a hair smooth and less jump but F my face lol. Just put an old 2A Armament comp on it as itsmore of a flash hider, but is a comp as well. The perfect brake IMHO. Putting a Plan by type flash hider on it though as my YHM R2 will live on this a while

Yeah! I put one on my 6933 upper as a sacrificial blast baffle.
But it's rough shooting unsuppressed.
I was about to pull the trigger on the 6945 upper. But then realized is a 10.5".
I don't think that will work with. M42k

I have my original I bought in 2001, Colt 6920 with Restricted markings, I had to buy it with a memo from the agency.  It sits in the back of the safe, reminds me I should clean it.

By won't work I meant.
I thought I read way back when. That there wasn't enough space between the can and front site base on the shorter barrel.
I'll have to look into it further.
Thanks for the link. I'll check it out later

A pair of police trade-in 6920s acquired in mid-2024 for $700/each OTD. Not sure which distributor they came from during that timeframe, so no idea what department service they had.

One was pretty dirty and had evidence of being well cared for but shot quite a bit.  The other looks like a safe queen from the back of the weapons locker. One is a 2013 and the other a 2014 based on the barrel dates. Both came config'd with the black MBUS rear sights and Carbine handguards. One has had the buffer tube changed to a 6-position and the other has the stock 4-position.

I added the carry handle and the KAC RAS and grip to the top one to mimic the rifle I was USAF-issued in Afghanistan in 2011 (the KAC grip was smuggled home from that issued rifle). I gave the bottom one to my college-bound daughter as her first centerfire rifle, an upgrade from the 15-22 she has been shooting for almost 10 years. The optic is a Chinesium-level red dot that was on her 15-22 and is still chugging along fine on the Colt.

Those look really darn good for LE trade ins.  Probably some of the least beat up trade ins I have seen.

Do you know what the barrel length is, 14.5"?

14.5"   Mine has less wear that most of my guns. Most wear is at the rear sling mount. Barely any wear on the bolt, CH or bore, I dont think this things has ever even seen an optic. Looks better than some of my rifles that only have like 1k through them. Almost thought it was unissued when I saw it from a couple feet away at first.

FWiW they put the nicest of the bunch on GunBroker. So if looking grab what they have on GB. Or ask for pics of that they have left. All look pretty good

Saw these, tempting.  Hard to tell the condition as the actual photos are not close up.  The two close ups are stock photos and I do not think they represent the condition of the specimens they are selling.

And what's with the command arms stocks?  lol

I saw these as well.  Are these possibly trade in uppers/stocks on a new Commando lower?

Wasn’t AU doing that with the trade in SCWs they had.

Buyer beware on these depending on what you wanted. I bought one of their ‘surplus’ SCW and was excited to get it.

The upper is used and the lower is NOS. Never Seen a round….This appears to be the same for these commandos.

They aren’t selling the lowers well so slapping used uppers on them and calling them surplus

Got it - thanks for the heads up.  I heard that they do this from time to time.  It looks like they blew them all out.

If they really want to move those commando lowers dropping them $50 might help.  I have been on the fence for months just waiting to see if they will reduce the price a little bit.  I was more interested when they offered the SBR option for the lower but they stopped doing this due to complications.

I was told that when shipping SBR lowers there were issues with some receiving FFL's and they decided to move away from it.

I do not have more detail beyond that.  I speculate that some people bought them and had them inadvertently transferred to dealers not familiar with NFA items and paperwork.  Maybe states where they are illegal, IDK

It is kind of strange to me because AU still sells complete SBRs.  Not sure why there is such a difference with lowers.

I had a receiving FFL decline an SBR lower a few years ago.  They said the Form 3/4 has a barrel length measurement on it, and since the lower didn’t have a barrel on it, the form was wrong.  The seller just let me ship to another FFL, and everything went through just fine.  Been using that FFL ever since.

I bought one of the Commando lowers when they 1st offered them for full price. Got it and it was scuffed to shit.
Their reply was "they ship from Colt in a gaylord and that's the way they come". Basically FU.
Now they are $500. Ouch with AU.

Was that end plate sling QD installed at the factory or by dept armorer?  If there is still presence of Colt factory staking it must have been done at the factory.
