An amazing piece of Colt and USMC M16/M4 carbine weapon history. A rare opportunity to own modern US military firearm development history. Fewer than 200 available to the public. I couldn't resist and got one. https://www.aimsurplus.com/product.aspx?item=XCOLTIARURG https://www.AR15.Com/media/mediaFiles/336740/XCOLTIARURG-279638.jpg Nice find |

It's from Chris Bartocci. My understanding is he used to work for Colt. There might be some discussion in here: Colt LE6940 Discussion The LE6940 and IAR6940 are obviously based on the same weapon. Use of the H3 buffer is mentioned by Chris Bartocci in his article for Small Arms Review also. Small Arms Review Article |

Just for clarification sake. These came with the Colt flip up integrated fsb, not the Knight's one as stated on AIM?
Might have been worth the price of admission if it actually came with the KAC Folding FSGB, not that it isn't/wasn't at a great price point already. Very cool piece for sure! |

The uppers being advertised as 'prototype' is erroneous and creates some confusion for some. The color and configuration of the upper receivers for sale are the same IAR 6940 configuration as sold to Mexico which more than likely makes the contract overruns.
Chris Bartocci did a great article on the IAR which stated the actual prototype uppers were all FDE. |
