...my 4/16 MFR'd LE6920 has one.   Looks like it started as an OEM-1 and became a Kryptek model (as we keep seeing now), and appears unmolested otherwise.   The castle is staked by a gorilla in typical Colt fashion and I see zero evidence of it being removed/re-staked.

I've read countless pages of the "my new LE Colt has the matrix/different barrel markings/E on barrel, but I haven't found anything on the buffer tube.   I know the expanse piece is slated to come with one and that their lowers are the same as this (I have yet to see one with anything but a LE prefix), so I suppose it's a thing now.

Would anyone with a recent LE6920 please chime in?

I will have to look at mine.  I have a pretty recent oem1 and 2, not sure of the build dates though.

Just read a lengthy thread on TOS.  Apparently Colt is dumping a few different rando things in boxes.  My label shows "ambi", but most certainly didn't come with one installed. The six position tubes have been seen before.

Just checked, oem1 and 2 both had 4 position tubes on them.  2 has a 5/16 barrel date on it, didn't pull the handguards off of the 1.

Nice.

Seems that it's a mixed bag as to what you're going to pull out of your box lately.

I'll throw a pic or two up later.

I've also got a date-less barrel, rocking the usual Colt cage code but an "E" on the barrel nearest the delta ring.

I agree could be the factory are using the 6 position tubes randomly whenever they're available.

Colt makes and uses 6 position mil-spec size receiver extensions (buffer tube) Colt part number SP69072 and they only use them on MK18, MK18 MOD1 rebuilds and M4A1 SOPMOD Block 2 rebuilds, these parts are very rare and almost impossible to find.

Might try Gun Broker sometimes I see them there, good luck.

I had a free minute at work, so I called Colt CS to inquire about the barrel marking and the buffer tube.

The "E" stamp on the barrel is apparently a vendor marking to indicate chrome lining.  The very nice young lady on the phone had to step out and ask someone else (I appreciated the action as she at least didn't BS me) about it.  I know that CS isn't the most product-educated group, so take that as you will.   Either way, she was nice to talk with and made a genuine effort.

The buffer tube question was immediately answered, by stating "They are built with the parts we have on hand."

I have an OEM 1 I got back in July that has the 6 postion buffer tube and the ambi selector.

My CE2000 Expanse made 6/28/16 has a 6 position tube...what's not to like; mil-spec diameter w/more adjustments

I actually like the 4 position because the 1 stop out position is a good fit when I feel like riding close. I'd never use the space in between for anything, so doesn't matter. Heck, could probably just do a 3 position.

SAW has Colt 6-position teceiver extensions, that said, unless this is a new thing all of the Mk18 mod0's I played with in the navy were 4-position.
