I recently ordered a Colt H2 carbine buffer.  It came unpackaged and with a stamped "H2" which looks different from the dot matrix "H" of the original buffer in my 6920.  Did I receive an authentic Colt H2 buffer?  Here's a photo comparing the markings on the two buffers.

I have Colt H and H2 buffers stamped like that.

That being said, it's a buffer, weigh it, if it's the right weight, I wouldn't be terribly concerned about what brand it was.

There's a decent chance Colt subcontracts them anyways.

The H2 buffer that came in both of my 6920 SOCOM's look like the one in your picture, OP.

Thanks for the replies!  I feel better about paying a little extra for the "Colt" buffer vs a generic brand.  For whatever reason, I just wanted to keep this rifle all Colt as compared to my mutt-AR built in 2013 with Stag receiver and randomly sourced parts.

Specialized Armament. Genuine Colt, and you'll pay for it. I think this is where I got mine.

I ordered mine from Arms Unlimited.  I hope they're a reputable vendor.

All of the Colt buffers in my possession have the roll pin slightly sticking out on both sides of the buffer.
I've seen many others , not Colt , that he pin is flush with the buffer.

Not sure how relevant that is ...

As mentioned above, I have noticed on all the Colt carbine buffers I have seen the roll pin is just a bit wider than the buffer body.
On all other carbine buffers I have seen the roll pin is just a bit narrower than the buffer body.

Just received a couple of Geissele Super 42 Braided Wire Buffer Spring and Buffer Combo's yesterday and the buffer is identical to my Colt buffers - pin slightly sticking out of sides and same finish and whatnot ..
Only difference is that is has Geissele Automatics engraved on the face as well as the H-1 that is clearly not the same as the engraved logo.
