So apparently they decided to produce more than 1500 of these? Anyone want to share some insight?

I'm curious about this as well. Probably been discussed before. I'm just out of the loop.

I dont think the socoms are as exclusive as they were made out to be in the begining.  Colt would have been crazy to only make a few thousand after selling so well.

The SOCOM II's were a 2012 distributor exclusive of 1500 guns.  I have one NIB as well.  They are pretty cool rifles.

Walmart must have found a bunch of socomII in their warehouses, I have seen about a dozen in the last couple of months at the local walmarts.  Unless of course they keep moving the same 3 to different walmarts right before I go to them.  I agree, awesome rifles, but not exclusive and collectable.

In 2012 the SOCOM II's were a run of 1500 that were a distributor exclusive.  A "distributor exclusive" simply means that Colt sold the guns to one distributor in that year.  There were more built in 2013. WalMart also purchases their Colts through distribution.

I paid around 1700 for mine in 2012
On the bright side it came with two mags and cleaning kit.
