Was at my LGS this morning...
For the past month this place has been selling at normal prices, and they have vowed to not gouge..However today I went in and the price of 6920s was $1800.00 I was told this was a price increase that came from Colt.. Anyone have any idea if there is truth to this??? |
| I'd say that your LGS is marking the price up and blaming Colt. Colt sells their firearms through Distribitors, who would have contract pricing for a certain period of time. You can figure that Gun shops were charging 10-15% over what they paid from their distributor prior to the CT shooting. Prior to that you could buy a 6920 for between $1000 and $1250, so that would put the Gun Shops cost at around $950-$980. I can't imagine Colt raising their prices that much at one time. |

That very high price increase seems like BS to me, are they looking at the prices from Gun Broker.
My local dealer only slightly increased the price of their standard LE6920 model now it's around $1,116, before when I bought mine in April last year they were $1,097 (same as my local Walmart). Another change with my dealer is that all Colt AR models except .22 LR rifles are now allocated by their distributor, last year they could buy unlimited quantities whatever the distributor have available in stock. |

I did notice that the Busmaster Carbon 15 they had was priced at 899.00, so if they were gouging wouldnt it be across the board?? |

GT's is still offering them at $995.95, they are currently not doing any back orders so they can complete those already back ordered and to ensure LE still has priority. However, the price is the same, Colt has not raised any prices, your dealer has. William What is GT's? |
