| Colt shows nine non-piston AR-15's. There are obvious differences in appearance. Are the differences in those models as simple as the differences in their appearances or is there more to it? |

I answered your same question on the AR Discussions forum and re-posting it here.
I'm just going to give you a short answer, just looking at Colt's site in Carbines I & Carbines II tabs and nothing else. Model LE6920 are basically 16" M4 profile barrels with other variants that you could see the differences in furniture, handguards, and rear sights. Model LE6940 have a one piece upper and rail system, 16" M4 profile barrel with folding front sight, MATECH folding military issue rear sights, their barrels are not compatible with standard M4 or other Colt lightweight and heavy barrels. Model AR6720 are lightweight profile barrels. Model AR6721 have HBAR heavy profile 1/9 twist barrels. Model AR6450 are 9mm NATO caliber carbines with A1 type fixed carry handle upper receivers. Are there specific features that you are looking for like barrel profiles, handguards, furniture, etc. ? |
