My R6830 has a fence but the pivot is a smaller screw from the left and a threaded push-pin type from the right. I replaced mine with a military front pivot and drilled the fence for the spring and detent.

My preban 6830 has the fence and small hole. It's the military detent and pin. Mine came this way from Colt.
