Is their any difference in the buffer tube for a 6920 and anything else (BCM, Stag, Spikes, etc.) (markings, number of holes/positions, etc.?) I am putting together a 6920 stock, and I want it to be correct.

The 6920 comes with a mil spec 4 holer.  Also an H buffer.

If you want it to be correct, then you need to buy a Colt 4 position receiver extension. Nothing else would be "correct".

Some have "drain" holes ( I assume for water) in the rear or in the stock position holes.  Knights and Spikes I know have "drain" holes in the stock holes.

The biggest difference is that some manufacturers extrude them and others machine them out of stock which tends to be stronger and of the correct diameter. The threads are cut and the tube is turned down instead of the threads being rolled in and the same diameter as the tube.
