I was just browsing my local dealers Colt inventory list and noticed a new model SP6920MP-B which are priced around $70 more than the standard SP6920.

The only details of this new model that I saw are it have all black MOE furniture, MOE VFG, MBUS rear sight, MOE trigger guard, and two PMAG.

They might also be adding more colors later but I have not seen them listed yet, hope they also have a CTR stock option.

What do you guys think about this new model, like it, don't like, or pie, it seems they're competing with S&W, Bushmaster, etc., MOE models.

dont like

I do use some magpul stuff sparingly.   like mags,  and SOME stocks,   I hate overloading a rifle with all magpul stuff

and I think plastic BUS are just retarded.  But thats my inexpert opinion.

I hope it sells a lot of rifles for them though

It is my understanding that this is a package deal from RSR Group. Colt is not involved with it.

Good to hear.  Colt is Colt.  They don't need to market any "gimmick" rifles like the others do.  Just keep making their rifles in accordance with the Colt Legacy and let sales do the rest.

I have not seen an official pic yet, but if you have seen a MOE S&W/ Bushy they all look the same.

There's some pics in this recent MOE thread...

I don't like all the MOE components also, I have a MOE grip and stock on one of my budget plinker build, and on that same carbine I didn't go with the MOE handguard I prefer the good old aluminum rail DD EZ CAR 7.0  which I don't have to buy adapters and short rails, for a little more money.

My dealer's distributor is Davidson's so maybe there are several distributors doing the MOE thing.

There are a lot of AR noobs that goes for the MOE furniture as their first step with the black rifle disease, and we all know that they will keep on upgrading later on, hope they sell a lot too.

Is Clyde's using these on the 6945 builds?

Has anyone else noted that most of the "great new innovations" have been sitting in the Colt toolroom or the Reed Knight collection since the 70's?

I was fortunate to tour the KAC museum a few years ago while attending the Shot Show in Orlando.  Words cannot describe it.

Cheers

Colt is putting MP behind the Model Number to indicate a Magpul stock. These are or wil be shipping real soon. These are coming from Colt with Magpul stocks.

The MP should have MOE stock HG and grip. I don't know why Colt dcided to make these.....

You are right. Colt should be having these out in the next few months.

I hope you didn't hear that from Ken Elmore...

I like the TangoDown grip better than MOE.  I put the TD grip on all my rifles. I still cant decide if I like the MOE stock over the M4 stock.  Just love that M4 stock.

I like the P mags I have but I just cant replace my GI mags for them.  I like GI mag with Magpul follower and L Plates them best.

I have no need for plastic BUIS or trigger guard.

Handguards, I replace with rail system anyway.

Colt is also in the process of testing green and FDE finishes some are annodized. Right now the ones they have tested scratch fairly easily. The idea is to put out a complete Green or FDE rifle with Magpul furniture. They are shooting fot SHOT in January, once they choose and find the most durable finish.

I like the idea and I hope it happens, however I would bet the contrast in colors associated with the anodizing process prohibits the production.  I personally don't mind varying shades of FDE and OD, however the masses tends to whine about it.  LWRC is a perfect example of this; all their FDE guns are now cerakoted rather than anodized due to customers complaining.
