Do you think they are no longer produced? No idea, but I have bought a 6940 fairly recently with the new “carbine” markings. I think the monolithics rifles are done in batches, no idea how they do the CKs. I might be wrong but I think that most of the uppers AU was offering were take offs from complete rifles and not factory CKs. |

They were not take offs. Good to hear that you got factory CKs. I know they do sell take off uppers, they are not usually stated in the ad as such and and it’s usually hard to figure out what exactly you are going to get from them. |

Has anyone been able to find 6940 series barrels ? I had read somewhere on ARFCOM that Brownells sold them several years ago. I have a 6940, 6943, and a 6945. I'd like to just have a 6940 barrel laying around were I to shoot out on of the upper's barrels. I reached out to Specialized Armament on their website but never heard back. |

Do you know if we can expect any shipments of 6943ck or 6945ck this year? I see a few 6945 uppers on Gunbroker and have considered snagging one. | Here's a note for those who might be looking to purchase a LE6945. They're generally unavailable now, but Arms Unlimited has some. As a bonus, the $1400 price is good. I bought one and took a look at it at my dealer today. It didn't come in a factory box with the proper Colt label on the end. It did come with the correct accessory pack and the SBR itself looks perfectly fine. I have no idea if AU ditched the factory box for some unknown reason or they just married an upper half with a lower half. If having the proper box and knowing that it left the factory as a complete rifle matters to you, then you may want to avoid getting one from AU. I'm pretty anal retentive when it comes to stuff like this, so normally I would be mad about them not disclosing this. Fortunately, I was already planning on using the upper half on a SCW lower half and using the lower half for something else. Of course, if you don't care about the box or how it ended up as an SBR and just want a solid rifle at a good price, it's good to go. |

Knowing that they haven't been in production for many years, I assembled my long desired clone of an LE6945SCW using an SCW stock kit and SCW marked lower from AU. I already had the upper receiver conversion kit. I'm very happy with it. There are legacy factory LE6945SCW's that pop up on GB from time to time. The last one I saw was almost 2 years ago and sold around $6900. There is a factory CR6945CQB available from Colt with a Maxim PDW stock or standard M4 stock. The reappearance of the SCW stock may result in the 6945SCW returning to the catalog. It has seen some special orders over the last 8 months or so from what I understand. For those of us that are big fans of the legacy SCW, Arms Unlimited has provided us the ability to put one together. I'm very happy with mine. Attached File |

| Minuteman1636, I noticed that your upper has a bayo lug and special flash hider. Both of my LE6945 uppers came without bayo lugs and with regular A2 flash hiders. Did you add the special flash hider or did it come that way? Any idea why some come with the bayo lugs while others don't? They're obviously not function and only add weight, but I tend to like anything that upsets the gun grabbers. |

Early model, original SCW upper receivers used the Smith Vortex flash hider. Later production often saw the A2 flash hider used. |

Finally got one. Always wanted a 6945 upper so I snagged an LE trade in for $640 off CLydes. It had the typical cop wear and tear on the finish but the bore and everything else that matters was fine. Also came with a PRI M48 gas buster and an AAC muzzle break which I took off. Since the finish was beat, I cleaned her up and got her a couple coats of Behrs Black Evergreen. And its on a "pony" lower lol. I do have an complete LE6944 on the way though.
