| I know there are many of us Colt fanatics out there, and I figured I would ask you guys first? I have just sent off my $200 to BATFE for my new Colt Commando, and I cannot wait to take her to the range. Should be back soem time around November. As for my question, is there anywhere I could fine a Colt .625 F-marked FSB with bayo lug? I know there is no real need for one, and yada yada yada... But I feel there is something missing when I look at one. Maybe I am just being a bit of a fool.. but I have yet to see one anywhere, and changing out the FSB is looking more and more like its not going to happen. I have seen some .625 F-<arked FSB from BCM, Fulton Armory, and other alike, but I would like to keep all hardware Colt.. Anyway, just thought I would put it out there. Any help would be appreciated. |
| Yeah, I hear you guys, I prolly wont change it out... The lack of bayo lug makes the rifle a "Colt Commando". I guess that I am just not used to seeing them rifles without it having carried them for years on end. Never seen a Colt .625 F-marked FSB, but then again I havent been in the market for one up until about 4 months ago. I could always buy one from BCM, and keep the original on hand. If I ever feel the need to sale the weapon then put on the original parts. After all, I plan on running the gun as hard as I can, so holding on for resale is the least of my concerns. I have yet to decide, but I will post pics once I get the rifle together. Planning on running an Aimpoint PRO with Wilcox mount, KAC RAS, Surefire Scout, and LMT backup iron sight and SOPMOD stock. Should make a good little carbine. |

FYI, The taper pin holes in the barrel are drilled with the factory FSB at the same time. So in a sense, they are married to each other. You might be able to find another FSB that matches up well enough to work, but it will never work as well or be the same as the factory FSB.
Personally I would not jeopardize functionality for a cosmetic issue such as this, but to each his own... |
