I have a used Colt Gov. profile 20" barrel, and I was wondering what one of the markings was. It has an "O" near the barrel extension that means chrome lined, or so I am told. By the FSB is has "40". Now, I have read and seen that near the FSB is usually a date stamp (my MT6700 has "10/98") but did Colt ever stamp anything else there? Is this gibberish before the date stamps came into play?
The barrel is marked "C MP 5.56 NATO 1/7". Any info, theories, conjecture, would be appreciated |
