As I understand it, ACOG's are calibrated for the M4 Carbine and the M16A4, depending on the model. So, 14.5" and 20"... However, if you put it on the 16" LE6920 and actually notice a difference in the BDC, you are a much better shot than I.

I like the TA01-NSN but it doesn't have the fiber optics on it to assist it during dusk/dawn operations. I may just end up going w/ the TA31RCO-M4...once a Marine...Always a Marine Semper Fidelis |
I've tried a variety of ACOGs over the years on my Colt and other ARs, and I keep coming back to the TA-11 and 11D. They are heavy-it's like mounting a brick to the top of your rifle. That said the eye relief, speed, and brightness of the TA-11 is what keeps me coming back to it over the others.

Anybody have any experience w/ the mini-ACOG's (TA26S-10, TA26SG-10, TA26SR-10 or the TA44S-10, TA44SG-10, TA44SR-10). The only difference is the way they mount. I will be using this on a flat-top but I have heard that some people like the later versions (that are designed to mount on a carry handle) and purchase a Larue Tactical Flat-top mount for them as it raises the reticle above the front sight base (as mine is fixed w/ it being a Colt LE6920). I like these mini ACOG's as it looks like they would serve the same purpose as an Aimpoint or EOTech but w/o the use of batteries. Anybody have any expereince w/ the above models and what did you think of them compared to the Aimpoint or EOTech? Below you will find the Mini ACOG's that I am referring to.

May also be getting into competitive shooting but that would be later on down the road. Thanks for any help or advice. |
