Does this mean that I might someday be able to get a 14.5" barrel with a FSB for my 6940? Along with a tool to change it out with?

Was that a pig I just saw fly by???

I hope they don't screw this up.  Colt has a chance to make tons of money with this if they play their cards right.

I wish they would light up the "colt tactical" link but they haven't yet.

"Coming soon" for Colt means about five years from now.

Colt doesn't even attempt to compete in the AR market, but they still have a large market share. If they don't screw this up, then they will storm the AR market again. If I owned colt, I would keep the match target line and perhaps add a DCM rifle and few other things to it, and then add a "military" line that sells semi auto versions of the rifles in the miltary. I would even open a colt classic line, with SP1 type rifles. Perhaps one day, when the M16 is phased out, they will come back to the civilian sector.

I would love to see a "classics" line using A1 styled uppers and lowers but with the correct front pin setup. That one pin and slab sided recievers ( which ARE cool by the way ) is what cost Colt a HUGE portion of the market share after the mid to late 80s.

This is what happens when gun companies are run by "business" executives.

I would order one of those the first day it was released. I would sell another gun to fund that purchase if I had to.

This, ive been checking this forum like crazy, along with the shot show forum, waiting for something about Colt, other than the tactical thing they are starting.

Nothing worth taking pictures of. They threw together a few prop guns to get tails wagging. The tactical line is going to lawn dart in a big way and I've got ringside seats.

same as the MT6400c

pinned stock and the pinned muzzle break and no baynet lug on a 6940

and I notice some 6940 types witha newer flip up front site.  those 191s will  put them back in the 1911 game

i just got off the pone with colt asking for  the 2010 catalogue.  I mentioned i didnt think the DA  1911 would do too good, they said they got mixed reviews adn mybe it would get some differnt features lke a exposed hammer.  Its not in prodction yet so it may not even see daylight if enough interweb experts  shit on it

not that  I liked the thing but I do like to see them do well.   I was told the nicer 1911s would be out 1st quarter and they have a tight production schedule

The site is by Vltor and pinned.  I hope the 6943ck, whether it is 10.5" or 11.5", has the old folding BUIS.  I would also like to see a 6940 type upper with middy gas system, 9" rail and folding BUIS.  And of course a true A4 style upper.

Cheers

I read on some gunblog shot shw coverage that a middy 6940 is on the table.  I will try to  find it and link to it

Thats good news and i'd like to see the article.  For some reason I could care less when companies like S&W and Ruger deck their AR's out with aftermarket gear however I prefer my Colt's to be all Colt.  I suppose I can live with the Matech BUIS on the 6940 but I don't care for the Centurion Arms rail offered on the 6940 and 6920.  I understand the premise behind it however half the fun is modifying the weapon to one's liking.  Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

Cheers
